Positioned between the two sides of the Seine, this architectural treasure is also called ' Stone Ship ' for its grandeur and its position.
Begun in the 4th century by the Christians it was enlarged between the 8th and the 9th century. In 1148 a portal and some other small changes were added.
During Luigi XVI period it wasn’t considered able to represent the Kingdom and it was reconstructed from the bishop Maurice de Sully and modified many times up to around 1300.
Seriously damaged during the Revolution it was reconstructed between 1857 and 1864.
