It was built in 1200 and it was a fortress and royal residence at first and then it became a holiday resort in the days of Charles V. Today there’s one of the world main museums, if not the main one.
It takes more than a day to visit it but if you properly choose the works and the periods you’re interested in, you will need just one day to be amazed at it.
