The Doll Museum is a two collector’s dream come true, Guido and Samy ODIN, father and son, who began collecting old dolls in 1981 and they have been showing them since 1985.
After many temporary expositions, they build a real little permanent museum in 1991 in Italy, where they show a little part of their collection, waiting to find places being more conform to their museological needs. Such a coveted place was suggested then to them, it was in the heart of Paris, where there was once the “Mechanical Musical Instruments Museum”. Paris’ Doll Museum opened on June 24th, 1994. In the seven rooms of the museum 200 dolls made in France from 1860 to 1960 are shown in 42 windows, being the permanent exposition of the museum.
